Gig Lab is an exciting Event Management course for women, trans, and non-binary creatives aged 18-30.
If you’re passionate about live music and ready to explore how events are made, this 6-session course is the perfect start. Learn the ins and outs of live music event management, from planning and logistics to booking artists, marketing, and event delivery. You’ll get hands-on experience, and by Week 5, you’ll be part of a team delivering a real live showcase!

This course will be led by Women Connect, a community-driven collective championing women, non-binary, and transgender people in the creative and entertainment industries. They create safer spaces, meaningful opportunities, and advocate for equity at every level. Through events, workshops, and resource-sharing, they empower their community to thrive – professionally and personally.

Meet the course leaders
Bre Antonia
Bre is an International Product Manager at AWAL, a label under Sony Music UK, and works with marketing teams across the globe to catapult the careers of independent artists. She previously headed up Sony Music UK’s first ever diversity committee, HUE UK – a title that earned her the No.14 spot on the Yahoo! Finance x The EMpower 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders list in 2021. Bre co-founded and runs Women Connect, a collective dedicated to promoting equal opportunities for women, non-binary and gender-fluid people in the creative industries. She is also a Board Member and Trustee of Youth Music, a leading national charity making learning and earning from music accessible for young people. Alongside her AWAL role, Bre is a host, presenter, musician, and deacon at her church, aiming to create change in the music industry—both on and off the stage.

Alexandra Ampofo

Alexandra is a visionary in the live music industry, currently making waves as a Live Music Promoter at Metropolis Music, Live Nation UK. With a degree in Business Management and Leadership, she blends strategy with purpose, leading EMBRACE Nation – Live Nation UK’s pioneering Diversity Employee Resource Group – creating a dynamic cultural space for racial equity and education.Her portfolio spans global artists including Tommy Richman, Tyla, Amaarae, and Gabzy, and projects with Somerset House, The Ends Festival, UNICEF Music Group, and the Black Music Coalition. With over ten years of industry experience, Alexandra founded Acoustic Live in 2013, an award-winning platform spotlighting acoustic artists and nurturing raw talent through community-driven events.
Passionate about equity in the arts, she also founded Women Connect, a not-for-profit initiative cultivating safer, inclusive opportunities for women and non-binary creatives. Her work intersects innovation and impact, having partnered with Google, Puma, KA Drinks, and Desperados to elevate underrepresented voices through music.
Whether onstage or behind the scenes, Alexandra is dedicated to reshaping the creative industries into spaces of access, empowerment, and cultural transformation.

This course is open to women, trans, and non-binary creatives aged 18–30 with a passion for live music. Whether you’ve helped at gigs before or you’re just getting started, if you’re ready to learn, collaborate, and make something amazing – you’re in the right place.
We’re looking for people with curiosity, dedication, and a love for music who are excited to work as part of a team to bring an event to life.
