Our 6-session intensive course is designed to give individuals essential skills and knowledge to thrive in creating music for advertising, including library and sync music. Emphasising inclusivity and support, the course fosters a diverse learning environment that encourages collaboration and creativity. Through a mix of theoretical teaching, hands-on exercises, and guest speaker sessions, participants will develop a portfolio, establish industry connections, and gain the skills and confidence needed to pursue their goals in the field.

Shumba Maasai (born in Harare, Zimbabwe) is a solo performer, producer, and founder of Ancestral Futures and Plus Trbe Recordings.

 

Shumba brings with him the rich expertise gained from founding Plus TRBE Recordings—a boutique music production company dedicated to championing black-origin music in the expansive world of production and music for film and TV. Shumba is passionate about helping young talent embark on their journey in to the world of music production for music and film whilst sharing his invaluable experiences from his time in the music industry.

Sync licensing, the heartbeat of the entertainment industry, allows musicians to shine by having their work featured in films, TV shows, commercials, and more. Discover the intricacies of pairing music with visual media, and become part of a curated selection that enhances the storytelling experience for media producers.

 

Real briefs, real skills

Say goodbye to theoretical mumbo-jumbo. Dive into the nitty-gritty of production with hands-on experience. Our course is your backstage pass to the music industry, where you’ll work on real briefs, create real magic, and leave with skills that are as real as it gets.

 

Mentoring and more

Participants can schedule two complimentary, non-compulsory online mentoring sessions with course coordinator Tilda Landehag upon commencement of the course, and you’ll walk away with a certificate by Badge Nation, a stamp of your audio prowess! Mandatory days (educational sessions): Thursday/Friday – 5:30-8pm, Saturday – 12-4pm
Non-mandatory day (self-study using our facilities): 1pm-5pm
