If you have experience and skills with more than one instrument, please feel free to state this clearly in your application.
We are particularly looking for tutors who are keen to teach whole class instrumental tuition in violin, guitar, ukulele, recorder, djembe and samba.

As well as offering instrument hire, instrumental and vocal lessons (for individuals, groups and whole classes), music theory classes, bands and ensembles and CPD and training for professionals, Lewisham Music has diversified our offer to include music production, songwriting, rap, cross-genre creative programmes and more. We also have received significant funding to deliver programmes focused on Equality Diversity and Inclusion, creative careers programmes for young people, mental health, and supporting the talent of children from low-income households.
Our core work is with 5-18 year olds but we deliver some skills/careers-based programmes for 18-30 year olds.

Work status
30 weeks per year (term time only).
Pay
Attending Lewisham Music training starts from £16.01 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
Individual and small-group tuition starts from £33.15 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
Whole class and ensemble tuition starts from £34.82 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
One-off projects and performances is £37.11 (inc. holiday pay) per hour.
Curriculum teaching is £40.82 (inc. holiday pay) per hour.
Contract type
Permanent – Employed PAYE.
Location
Work can be across the borough of Lewisham in schools and community settings, and occasionally further afield. Our new community music spaces at The Fellowship Inn is on Randlesdown Road, SE6 3BT. Our Saturday Music Centre runs at Prendergast Vale School, Elmira Street, SE13 7BN.
