Lewisham Music are looking for instrumental, vocal, curriculum tutors to join our team.
We’re looking to recruit new music tutors to join our team with the passion to inspire young people with a love of learning and making music. We are currently looking for the specialisms below.
Primary School post
Small group teaching across flute, clarinet and saxophone on Tuesday afternoons (2 hours) with the possibility of leading a mixed ensemble (1 hour).
Saturday Centre post
1:1 woodwind tuition and one hour of wind band ensemble (4.5hours).
Primary School post
Monday afternoon or Wednesday morning for flute (1.5-2 hours).
Primary School post
Small group violin teaching on Tuesdays (4 hours).
Primary School post
Vocal tutor to lead a choir on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday (1 hour).
Primary School post
Vocal tutor to lead a choir on Tuesdays (2 hours).
Secondary School post
Small group vocal tuition (day/hours TBC).
Saturday Centre post
1:1 brass tuition and two 30-minute group music theory sessions (4.5 hours).
Primary School post
Half day teaching 4 classes across Key Stages, taking choir and singing assembly.

Attending Lewisham Music training
Starts from £16.33 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
Individual/small-group tuition and ensemble support
Starts from £33.81 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
Whole class teaching and ensemble leadership
Starts from £35.52 (inc. holiday pay) per hour depending on qualifications.
One-off projects and performances
£37.85 (inc. holiday pay) per hour.
Curriculum teaching
£41.64 (inc. holiday pay) per hour.
Please note that pay rates are reviewed every September.
30 weeks per year (term time only).
Permanent - Employed PAYE.
Work can be across the borough of Lewisham in schools and community settings, and occasionally further afield. Our new community music spaces at The Fellowship Inn is on Randlesdown Road, SE6 3BT. Our Saturday Music Centre runs at Prendergast Vale School, Elmira Street, SE13 7BN.
Access to an APTIS Aviva workplace pension with employer contributions of 8.5%.
