Fellowship Music Collective is our ground-breaking cross-genre music project!
Fellowship Music Collective (FMC) returns this summer for a series of workshops that will culminate with performances as part of Rooftop Sessions, our new laid back gig series that spotlights emerging artists on our roof.
Young creatives aged 14-19 will have the opportunity to join our songwriting taster workshop as well as our jam workshop with Nu Sessions. Check out the details below and get signed up one, the other, or both!
Songwriting taster workshop
The day taster session is an intro into the upcoming Fellowship Music Collective. Over the session, young musicians aged 14-19 will be able to work with poet and spoken work pro, Y.A Poet, working on their lyricism, tone, performance and their connection to words throughout this session. This will prepare them for the exciting songwriting and improvisational workshops we will have taking place throughout the summer term. The skills learned during this time will culminate in a performance at Lewisham Music’s own, Sofar Sounds gig series, Rooftop Sessions.
For young people who are experienced on their instruments and comfortable with chords and notes.
For all instrumentalists, vocalists, spoken word artists and rappers.
This workshop is perfect for those looking to develop their musicianship skills.

The Fellowship Music Collective will return this May half term to deliver a collaborative project with NU Jam Sessions. NU Sessions began as a space to allow for ego free self-expression, whilst keeping community at the centre of its ethos.
Young intermediate-level musicians (who are confident with their instrument) aged 14-19, will be able to gain invaluable experience learning how to create free flowing music using themes, genres or feelings as a stimulus for their creations. The musicians will leave this project with an understanding of collaboration with their peers, the ability to closely listen to each other, and an openness to exploring new musical ideas.
