Come on a journey with Lewisham Music as we explore the stories and sounds of Bellingham over the last 100 years.
As part of Bellingham’s centenary celebration, we’ve been talking to the community, listening to local people’s stories and memories of Bellingham over the last 100 years, and those stories have formed a new podcast series as well as inspiring the next generation to create original music as they reimagine what they hear and see.
Listen to those stories as they come to life below.

Young musicians reimagine local people’s stories by creating new music
Young creatives from across Lewisham reimagined stories from local Bellingham residents as part of Bellingham at 100. After hearing the amazing stories, checking out some historic photos, and heading out to soak up the Bellingham surroundings, the creativity flowed, and with mesmerising outcomes as the young musicians took to the stage to perform their new music on the final day in front of bewildered crowds of family and friends. Every instrument and word working in perfect harmony.
